RGN (Removable Gooseneck) Trailer Dimensions
Also called: removable gooseneck, lowboy, RGN trailer
An RGN (removable gooseneck) trailer has a front neck that detaches so the front of the trailer lowers to the ground. Equipment can then be driven straight onto the low well deck.
RGNs are used for heavy and tall equipment — excavators, dozers, loaders, cranes, and other machinery — that is too tall for a stepdeck or that needs to be driven on rather than lifted.

- Well length varies by trailer: 28' is standard and stretch wells reach 34'. DimGenius plans with up to 34' by default; you can cap it in the calculator.
- Freight taller than 11' 6" in the well is over-dimensional and needs permits; the well takes up to 14' with permits.
- Legal freight width is 8' 6". Wider loads are over-dimensional and need permits.
- These are the planning values DimGenius uses. Actual equipment varies by carrier — confirm with yours before booking.
